First, today’s weather:

Plenty of sunshine. High: 103 Low: 69.

Here are the top three stories in Yuma today:

  1. The Yuma area has reportedly fully recovered from its COVID-19 pandemic job losses. Some areas of Arizona are still recovering, however. Flagstaff is about 89 percent recovered while metro Tucson is 87 percent recovered. The sluggish recovery is being attributed to government employment delays. (AZ Central)
  2. The Yuma 2022 Back to School Rodeo will be on Jul. 16 at the Yuma Civic Center. The event begins at 7:00 am Participants will be able to pick up necessary school supplies. The event will be operating as a drive-thru event in front of the Yuma Civic Center. A child between grades Pre-K and eighth grade must be present to participate in the free event. (City of Yuma)
  3. The City of Yuma is currently hiring 911 Emergency Dispatchers and police officers. The 911 Emergency Dispatcher positions are full-time with a salary of $41,599. The position offers a hiring bonus of $1000. The city’s police officer positions are for certified and non-certified officers. Police officer positions are full-time and pay begins at $53,081.
