  1. Discount Tire acquired 35 acres for a planned Phoenix office campus. Discount Tire, a national tire retail company, is already based in the Valley and has won an auction for about 35 acres in northern Phoenix. Discount Tires intends the plot of land to later become its new headquarters campus. (The Business Journals)
  2. one fatality; three injuries after a two-vehicle crash in north Phoenix. Police responded to a terrible vehicle crash yesterday. According to responders, a man driving a vehicle southbound on 67th avenue struck a car that was trying to make a left turn from El Cortez Place onto the avenue. After the crash, four adults were taken to a hospital with serious injuries and one of the drivers died there. (The Arizona Republic)
