Here are the top three stories today in Yuma:
- Yuma Police officers responded to a call on Monday of an injury collision on 4th Avenue and 14th Street just after midnight. The early investigation revealed a 24-year-old female and a 47-year-old passenger were heading southbound on 4th Avenue nearing 14th Street at a high-speed, at about 12:09 am While speeding, the car swerved left and crossed all lanes then hit a light pole and caught on fire with both people trapped inside. Both driver and passenger were taken to the Yuma Regional Medical Center and transported to Phoenix-area hospitals with life-threatening injuries. (KYMA)
- Since late December, two special units were at Yuma Regional Medical Center to team up with its core staff and seasonal employees, helping them get through another difficult COVID-19 surge. YRMC recently thanked the physician, physician assistant, nurses, and paramedics – including members of the Air Force – who stepped up to help the Yuma community in a time of need.
