🌱 Phoenix Office Sublease Space Hits Record High + Transit Hub Towers

Hello again, neighbors. It’s Wednesday in Phoenix and I’m back in your inbox with everything you need to know about what’s happening in town.

First, today’s weather:

Partly sunny and hot. High: 112 Low: 89.

πŸ“’ I’m looking for business owners and marketers in Phoenix who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Phoenix Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that’s you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Phoenix today:

  1. Office sublease space on the market in the Phoenix metro is at an all-time high. The record is due to customers choosing quality over quantity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As of last month, the city has more than five million square feet of sublease space with 3.8 million square feet sitting completely vacant. (The Business Journals)
  2. The Phoenix City Manager has not indicated that the city’s residents will be involved in the police chief appointment process. City Manager Jeff Barton has not released any of the candidates’ names. The city’s spokesperson has cited the need to move quickly as the reason for not involving the public in the process. (The Arizona Republic)
  3. The city’s new transit hub will feature housing, offices, and retail space. The project will build two high-rise towers β€” one 22 stories and the second 23 stories. The towers will be constructed between Van Buren and Polk Streets on Central Avenue with a completion date of 2024. (The Arizona Republic)
