GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) – Two people are dead after an apparent suicide in Goodyear and Phoenix, authorities said Thursday.
Goodyear police said it appears that a woman fatally shot her ex-boyfriend and later committed suicide.
Police were called to 41-year-old Todd Vermillion’s home in Goodyear on Tuesday after his family conducted a social check and found him dead from a gunshot wound.
After police began the investigation, they developed a likely cause that Vermillion’s ex-girlfriend was involved.
A SWAT team was serving a search warrant in the Phoenix home of 37-year-old Lisa Couty on Wednesday, reporting that she was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Phoenix Police are investigating Couty’s death while Goodyear Police are investigating Vermillion’s death.
