2 officers have minor injuries after arresting 3 in Phoenix

Phoenix police officers were arrested three Sunday afternoons after a suspect’s family intervened with a foot chase near 35th and Dunlap Streets.

At around 3:50 p.m., police stopped a man who, according to Sgt. Andy Williams, of the Phoenix Police Department. The suspect fled the police and the police followed them. When police caught up with the suspect, two of his family members disrupted the arrest, Williams said.

Authorities arrested two men and a woman and booked them on multiple charges, including arrest warrants, drug possession and opposition to the arrest, Williams said.

Two officers were slightly injured as a result of the incident.
