The 2021 Hyundai Tucson range was officially on sale in Australia, starting at $ 38,338.
It has also been confirmed that the midsize SUV will be available in three different flavors from launch – the base Tucson, the Tucson Elite and the Tucson Highlander.
Depending on the variant selected, three different motors and three different gearboxes are also available for the Australian market.
The entry-level Tucson will only be available with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine that is only paired with a six-speed automatic torque converter – the six-speed manual will no longer be offered.
The power is 115 kW and 192 Nm, with the drive being sent exclusively to the front wheels.
The mid-range Tucson Elite can come with the same N / A four-pot and FWD configuration, or a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that transfers its power (132 kW / 265 Nm) to all four wheels using a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission .
The Elite will also be available later this year with a 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic torque converter that also powers all four wheels.
The Tucson Highlander rounds off the Tucson range as a top variant and is available with each of the three drive train variants.
Hyundai Australia confirmed to WhichCar that the N / A petrol-powered Tucsons will be the first to go on sale Down Under. The 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine is expected to appear between May and June, and the diesel-powered variants are expected in Australia by June or July.
The prices have increased significantly compared to the outgoing nickname. The Tucson base now starts at $ 38,338, more than two grand more expensive than its direct predecessor.
