22-year-old woman killed in Peoria accident on Sunday evening | Phoenix traffic

PHOENIX (3TV / CBS 5) – A 22-year-old woman died after an accident in Peoria on Sunday evening.

Peoria police say it happened near Peoria and 89th Street around 9 p.m. and involved two SUVs, one orange and one gray.

Police said during the investigation that they found that the driver of the orange SUV was traveling east on Peoria Avenue towards 89th Avenue when the gray SUV was traveling west, driving left of mean mean and head-on with the orange sports car crashed.

The driver of the orange car, 22-year-old Nicole Classen, was seriously injured in the accident and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

The driver of the gray car was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Peoria Police are still investigating the crash. They believe an impairment can be a factor. No arrests have been made yet.
