Phoenix inmate unintentionally launched from jail behind bars, say police – NBC 6 South Florida
A 52-year-old refugee, who was falsely released from prison on Monday, is back behind bars, according to the authorities.
Eduardo Cabana was “accidentally” released on January 25, which was his birthday, the Phoenix-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department said.
According to the Phoenix Herald, Cabana got into an argument with his wife after his accidental release. After the disagreement in the marriage, Cabana left and then appeared on Zoom for his own trial.
The newspaper reported that Cabana, who was holding his dog on his lap at the time of Thursday’s hearing, asked the court to make an appointment for the handover so he could find someone who could take his dog and his few possessions with him.
Cabana was taken back into custody Friday morning and is now at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
