According to the survey, more than 90 percent of families in Tucson receive a child tax credit

TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Many Tucson families will see monthly child tax credit payments in their bank accounts starting July 15.

“It’s really exciting to think about getting some education and saving up for our families in general,” said Allison Karsh, a mother of two.

According to Lending Tree, more than 90 percent of Tucson families receive the full child tax credit.

“Tucson was one of the cities in the country with the highest percentage of people who qualify for full benefit,” said Matt Schulz, chief credit analyst at Lending Tree.

Single parents earning less than $ 75,000 and married couples earning less than $ 150,000 get all of the loan.

“If you cross those thresholds, the amounts will decline,” he said. “It also depends on how many children you have and how old those children are.”

Half of the tax credit is rolled out in the monthly payments from July to December. The families will then receive the other half with their tax return the next year. Lending Tree says the average Tucson family will receive more than $ 7,000 in total credit. For families like Allison’s, money can make a huge difference.

“It really is a great thing to put families and children first, and it’s an excellent way to invest in our country and our country’s future,” said Karsh.
