FROM IDEA TO STAGE

Do you have a story on your mind just waiting to break out? (We know you do.) Was it difficult to translate ideas on paper? (Or screen for all those modern day writers.) In collaboration with that Flagstaff Foundry, the Northern Arizona Playwriting Showcase the gifts Playwriting workshop and words with Warren Doody Saturday at Creative minds, 605 W. Riordan Rd., To help anyone struggling with the writing process. Intended as a prologue for the NAPS yearbook 10-minute playwriting competition, The workshop mainly focuses on writing for concise stage productions, although the following lecture and discussion may also focus on writing longer works. Doody, a Vanguard University English professor and playwright whose original works include Life Without Parole, Enlightenment.com, Angels In Disguise, and Development, will introduce participants to the basics of theater writing, including Structure, conflict and beats. They will walk away after having the opportunity to start their own pieces, share ideas and get feedback from others and Warren, and edit their pieces to perform at future Flagstaff Foundry shows.
