ADHD launches new vaccine capsule in Yuma County
YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Arizona is opening a government-sponsored COVID-19 vaccination center at the Yuma Civic Center.
We learn that the state sponsored vaccination site will offer the Pfizer vaccine, which is new to our area as we only received the Moderna vaccine weekly.
The new ADHD pod will be released on March 29th.
“We run relatively well with our pods. We get a lot of really positive feedback, ”said Dr. Cara Christ.
As the site moves to the Pfizer vaccine, ADHD and the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) will ensure that people who received their first doses of Moderna get their second doses.
“Yuma Regional has typically received up to 3,000 vaccines. Sometimes I think our maximum was 4,000 vaccines in a week. With the direct government allocation, 7,000 vaccines will be received consistently per week with the expectation that this will continue to increase in the weeks to come. Said Kristina McNair of YRMC.
“The county will continue to receive grants that it can then distribute throughout the community. And then they will work in specific areas to make sure we reach our underserved population, ”she added.
The site will expand the capacity and hours of operation of the existing indoor space from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.
“It stays the same for patients who really come to the facility. However, patients will find that there is a new phone number and website to schedule their appointment on. Therefore, they will be using the state portal and the state 800 number to schedule these appointments, ”added McNair.
You can register for an appointment from March 26th.
