Air Power International Strike Flyover in Help of Tremendous Bowl 55 in Tampa | Vas Navy Information
ARLINGTON, Va. (AFNS) – Three different Air Force Global Strike Command bombers will perform a unique trifecta flyover over Raymond James Stadium in Tampa during the national anthem performance at the 55th Super Bowl on February 7. Fla.
“It is a tremendous honor for our command and the US Air Force to support this event,” said General Tim Ray, AFGSC commander. “We look forward to this opportunity to demonstrate to the nation the reliability, flexibility and precision of our bomber fleet during this exciting event.”
The bomber flyover will include B-1B Lancer from Ellsworth Air Force Base, SD, B-2 Spirit from Whiteman AFB, MO, and B-52 Stratofortress from Minot AFB, ND
The aircraft will take off from its respective bases for the Super Bowl LV flyover, register for the flyover, and return to base after the event to demonstrate the AFGSC bombers’ flexibility and ability to move from the continental United anywhere in the world States from being used.
The US Air Force conducts nearly 1,000 overflights annually to demonstrate the capabilities of its aircraft while inspiring patriotism and future generations of aviation enthusiasts. These overflights are carried out at no additional cost to the taxpayer and serve as time-over-target training for our pilots, aircraft crews and ground control teams.
