Alleged armed robber dead after being shot dead by police in Phoenix near 75th Ave and Indian School

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department says officers were involved in a fatal shooting near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road on Saturday night.

The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. after a man allegedly robbed someone at an ARCO gas station.

Police say they responded to the call and contacted the man, who then led them on a short chase into a restaurant.

The man pointed his gun at police officers, and then the police said they shot several times and hit the man in the restaurant.

He was then taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No officers or other people in the restaurant were injured in the shooting.

The shooting is currently being investigated.
