Arizona is adding Yuma County to its tenant assistance program

The Arizona Department of Economic Security announced Wednesday that residents of Yuma, Pima, and Maricopa are now qualifying

PHOENIX, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – On June 16, 2021, the Arizona Department of Economic Security announced it had added Yuma, Pima, and Maricopa counties to its emergency aid program for tenants. Now all 15 counties in the state are eligible for assistance.

The news comes after families across the state continued to seek help amid difficulties from the global pandemic. For those who qualify, DES provides them with funds for rent and utilities.

To qualify, residents must apply and meet a number of requirements, from excessive rent, utility bills, and so on. If approved, an applicant can receive up to $ 3,500 per month for a maximum of 18 months.
