Arizona reports 497 COVID-19 cases, 21 deaths on Tuesday

PHOENIX, AZ – The Arizona Department of Health reported 497 new COVID-19 cases and 21 more deaths on Tuesday.

The additions bring Arizona’s total COVID-19 cases to 833,878 with 16,574 deaths across the state.

In today’s AZDHS COVID-19 dashboard update, the state of Arizona had 743 inpatients for COVID-19, the second lowest number since October 18. The number of Arizonans in intensive care in the state was 206 on Monday, the lowest since October 30.

The number of Arizonans who received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine rose to 2,590,447 Tuesday, with 1,007,600 fully vaccinated against the virus.

The COVID-19 positive test rate was 5 percent of 2,189 tests this week, which is the same as last week’s percentage positive rate.

In other Tuesday’s COVID-19 news, data from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore shows that around 120.36 million cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed worldwide, with 2,663,188 deaths worldwide. There have been around 29.5 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and 535,698 deaths in the United States.
