Tucson International Airport has added a second Tucson Craft Brewery to its list.
In early February, Barrio Brewing, the oldest craft brewery in southern Arizona, took over the room that housed Noble Hops for nearly three years.
The brewery, which also serves food, is not run by Barrios owners but serves all of Barrio’s preferred beers, including Barrio Blonde, Citrazona IPA, Nolan’s Porter Dark Beer, Rojo Scottish Amber Ale, and Hipsterville Hazy IPA.
The menu has an array of salads and sandwiches, including a chicken panini from Rueben and Southwest. Visitors can also get a Sonoran hot dog – a perfect introduction for those out of town to Tucson’s signature Mexican food culture, recognized by UNESCO as the First City of Gastronomy in 2015.
Barrio’s airport site is operated by Delaware North, which has been serving the airport’s food and beverage services since 2019. However, Craig Reck, the airport’s public information administrator, said Barrio’s owners were very involved in the project, from curating the menu and beverage menus to bringing in staff to help Delaware North roll out the concept. Reck said the restaurant is being run by a former barrio employee.
