When it comes to popularizing superheroes in modern times, there is no more influential work than Marvel Studios’ Iron Man. The studio took a hero that was iconic for Marvel readers, but certainly not the average movie-goer, and cast him as a wildcard pick from Robert Downey Jr., and turned it into a global phenomenon that has spawned the largest interconnected film franchise in film history. However, the first Iron Man film had an impact not only on films but also on the comics that influenced the portrayal of certain heroes and led to the introduction of Nick Jury Jr. Now Marvel fans can celebrate the influence of Iron Man in an unlikely way. A page from the MCU’s original comic book adaptation of the MCU’s Iron Man film, Iron Man: I’m Iron Man, is now available at Heritage Auctions. The page is from Sean Chen, known as the artist behind other Iron Man comics, Avengers Academy, and his role as a recurring cover artist for Zenescope Entertainment. The page is colored by Victor Olazaba and Scott Hanna and comes from the script adapted by the comic veteran Peter David, an acclaimed writer known for his formative runs on the Hulk, Supergirl, and more.
