Blues Festival Guide Magazine and Online Directory of Blues Festivals “Downtown Blues” takes place on June 12th in Flagstaff

(FLAGSTAFF, AZ) – Presented by Flagstaff Brews & Blues, Downtown Blues is happening this Saturday, June 12th. The Orpheum Theater (15 W. Aspen Ave.) in downtown Flagstaff, Arizona. From 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Hans Olson, The Tommy Dukes Band, Chuck Hall Band, Arizona Hired Guns, headlined by Harlis Sweetwater.

The Harlis Sweetwater Band is a nationally touring, dark blues soul heavy rock group from Southern California. Guitarist, singer, songwriter and front man Harlis has been named “the best singer in every genre” by the OC Register. He’s shared the stage with everyone from Jimmie Vaughan, ZZ Top, Los Lobos, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Everlast and Brian Setzer to R&B / blues legends Etta James, James Cotton and Wilson Pickett, to name a few to call.

The Arizona Hired Guns from Flagstaff are an Allman Brother Tribute and Southern Rock Band. This 5-part project includes two guitars (a slide player), Hammond B3 organ, bass, and drums.

Originally from Louisiana, raised in Texas and honed his guitar skills in Detroit, the award-winning Chuck Hall prepared for a long career as a blues musician. The Chuck Hall Band delivers greasy blues, refined talent, raw passion, showmanship and a bit of salty humor.

Tommy Dukes has been keeping the real blues, soul and R&B alive in AZ for decades. Born in Mississippi, raised in Arizona and playing the blues since his youth, Dukes was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame in 1997.

The powerful singer, guitarist and harmonica blues man Hans Olson plays an amplified acoustic guitar and is considered one of the best “harp-in-a-rack” players in the world. Olson has released over 17 albums of original material. Many of his songs have been included in soundtracks for television programs and films.
