Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital was rated “A” by the Leapfrog Group.

Carondelet hospitals: The Carondelet St. Joseph’s and St. Mary’s hospitals were rated “A” in Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2020 security levels. This shows the hospitals’ commitment to providing safe, high quality patient care. The Leapfrog Group Hospital Safety Grade is a rating system that provides consumers with information that they can use to make healthcare decisions. The Leapfrog Group awards grades to more than 2,600 US hospitals based on their ability to prevent errors, injuries, accidents, and infection.

SARSEF: SARSEF, an organization designed to encourage students to think critically and to solve problems through science and technology, has received a $ 10,000 grant from the ON Semiconductor Foundation. The scholarship is used to teach students the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to make a difference using science and technology through hands-on workshops and parenting and teacher training.

Pima County Small Business Commission: The Pima County Small Business Commission has announced the winners of the 2020 Small Business of the Year Awards. Nominees were judged on criteria such as corporate culture, positive impact on Pima County, and community involvement. The 2020 winners, based on a vote by the Small Business Commission, are: Coffee Times; Homewatch CareGivers from Southern Arizona; and treasures 4 teachers from Tucson.
