Celebrate Día de los Muertos with this free festival in Flagstaff Gardens

¡Vamos de fiesta!

Arriba! Festival is coming to Flagstaff Gardens for a weekend of celebrating Mexican culture. With over 25 Mexican and Latino-American vendors providing a range of foods, local manufactures displaying a selection of Mexican and Latin American handcrafted products, Mariachis and other bands providing live entertainment, there’s something for everyone at Arriba! Festival.

It takes place from October 28 until October 30 at Flagstaff Gardens in the CBD/West Melbourne. Best of all? Entry is completely free.

Indulge in fantastic Mexican cuisine across the festival, including salsa, guacamole, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, and fajitas. They’ll have live entertainment bringing the spirit and culture of Mexico to live across the three days of festivities, as well as a Día de los Muertos parade that will begin at 4pm on Saturday, October 29.

Melbourne Mexican Festival promises to dazzle and delight at Flagstaff Gardens,” says Sally Capp, the Lord Mayor of Melbourne. “The City of Melbourne is proud to support community festivals such as this which celebrate the diversity that shapes our city.”

“In October it’s the Mexican community’s opportunity to showcase the culture, arts and cuisine enjoyed for many generations. The entertainment and festive feasting range from street foods and a margarita garden to mariachis, music, DJs and kids’ activities. Don’t miss the eye-catching costumes in the Day of the Dead parade.”
