Chestalene Pintozzi | Obituaries | tucson.com

During her time at the University of Arizona, Chestalene expanded her areas of expertise to include moderation, assessment, quality management and project management, and eventually became director of project management and assessment for the UA Libraries. She has served in faculty administration and has served several times as chair of the library faculty, as well as a member of the University’s Strategic Planning and Budgeting Committee, Research Policy Committee, Accreditation Review Committee, and Faculty Senate. Chestalene has published numerous publications and gave numerous presentations at national and international conferences on academic librarianship, team and organizational management, library evaluation and quality control in libraries.

Chestalene enjoyed traveling with her partner, Douglas Jones. In more than two decades they explored both coasts, made numerous trips to Hawaii and most recently traveled to Budapest, Vienna and Paris. She loved different types of music, including rock & roll – especially the Rolling Stones, traditional Hawaiian music – especially The Brothers Cazimero and Cajun & Zydeco. Her great love for the world’s cuisine led her to read extensively and watch videos about food and culture on every continent, especially in France and the Mediterranean. She will be greatly missed by her loving partner, her adoptive family of adult children and spouses, four grandchildren, and many lifelong friends and colleagues.
