City Life Org – Apple’s “The Oprah Conversation” featuring Elliot Page wins GLAAD Media Award

Oprah Winfrey speaks with actor and advocate Elliot Page on “The Oprah Conversation,” now streaming on Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ earned a GLAAD Media Award for “The Oprah Conversation” featuring Elliot Page and his powerful first on-camera interview after disclosing that he is transgender, describing his life struggles and his message for trans youth. The GLAAD Media Awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives.

The special episode won the Outstanding Variety or Talk Show Episode category at the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, marking the first GLAAD Media Awards win for Apple TV+, following special recognition for the “Little America” episode “The Son” last year. This most recent win follows a string of accolades for Apple Original films, documentaries and series earning 244 wins and 961 award nominations and counting, including this year’s Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”

“The Oprah Conversation” is a timely series that features Oprah leading intimate discussions with today’s foremost newsmakers, thought leaders and masters of their craft. Filmed remotely, Oprah hosts conversations that aim to bring truth and perspective to a range of topics shaping our world, revealing gripping stories of human connection. Guests have included Eddie Murphy, Amanda Gorman, Barack Obama, Dolly Parton and Stevie Wonder, and the series has been previously honored by the Critics’ Choice Real TV Awards and NAACP Image Awards.

“The Oprah Conversation” is available to stream on Apple TV+, alongside “The Me You Can’t See” and “Oprah’s Book Club.”

Apple TV+ offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, groundbreaking documentaries, and kids and family entertainment, and is available to watch across all your favorite screens. After its launch on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ became the first all-original streaming service to launch around the world, and has premiered more original hits and received more award recognitions faster than any other streaming service in its debut.
