City of Tucson resumes water shutdown on March 15th

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) – Tucson Water will reinstate the water on accounts that won’t pay next month.

The city had previously imposed a moratorium on water cuts when the coronavirus pandemic devastated the economy, placing many Tucsonans in dire financial straits.

At the February 9 meeting, the Mayor and City Council instructed Tucson Water to resume shutdowns on March 15.

In a press release Thursday, the city reminded Tucson Water customers that more than $ 1 million in utility bill assistance is available for people in financial difficulty. Click here for more information on how to get help paying bills for water, sewer, and garbage services in Tucson.
