Yuma City is reminding customers who are delinquent on their city service bills that the April 15 payment deadline is fast approaching.
Residents must have their accounts paid in full by that date to avoid disruption to service.
Those in need of financial assistance can apply for bill payment assistance. The city works with the Western Arizona Government Council (WACOG) to provide annual assistance to qualified households. Residents can also call 2-1-1 or visit 211arizona.org for community information and referral resources for Yuma County.
For more information or a referral to WACOG, please contact a city customer service specialist at 928-373-5076. Customers can stop by City Hall, 1 City Plaza (3rd Street between 1st Avenue and Madison Avenue) to discuss their situation Monday through Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
After realizing the impact of COVID-19 on the community, the city suspended the water supply for non-payment in order to relieve the stressful residents. In order for the city to continue providing quality services to all customers, the city announced in February that it would return to normal business practices on April 15.
“If a customer cannot pay the full amount overdue, it is imperative that they contact the city to find the best solution for their situation,” said Teresa Laurent, budget and revenue manager. “Our desire is to help every customer account get updated when we return to normal business practices on April 15th.”
Customers are invited to use the newly expanded electronic invoice payment from myUMA to view invoices and make payments. More information is available at www.yumaaz.gov/myuma.
