Clippers vs. Suns result: Deandre Ayton and Phoenix hold Los Angeles back to take the 3-1 lead

The Phoenix Suns escaped Los Angeles with a hard-won game 4 win. After a lead of up to 16 points, the Clippers rallied to reduce the gap to just one point. But they never caught the game or took the lead, and after several controversial decisions in the final minutes, they walked away with an 84:80 win, giving them a confident 3-1 lead in the series.

Devin Booker led the Suns by 25 points despite a foul late in the fourth quarter. Chris Paul fought off the field all night but hit the free throws Phoenix needed to secure victory. Deandre Ayton was dominant in his own finish with 19 points, 22 rebounds and four blocked shots. Paul George led the Clippers with 23 points, but he only shot 5 out of 20 out of the field. It was such a night for the Clippers, who only scored 32.5 percent of their field goals and 16.1 percent of their 3-pointers.

The Suns have a chance to make their first trip to the NBA Finals on Monday when the two teams play Game 5 in Phoenix.
