WATSON, Dr. Craig William

born January 19, 1949 – died December 24, 2021

The world began on December 24, 2021 with the unexpected death of Dr. Craig William Watson lost a tremendous force forever. Craig was born January 19, 1949 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Percy Theodore Watson Jr. and Jeanne Winsor Watson, before graduating from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree and then college of Minnesota is studying medicine. In 1981 he started his own practice in Golden, Colorado, where he served as a general practitioner for generations of families before retiring in 2008. Shortly thereafter, he and his wife, Deborah Louchheim Watson, moved to Tucson, Arizona. In addition to his wife and sisters, Felicia Naranjo Martinez, the birth mother of his three sons Ian (Lauren), Ryan (Vanessa) and Alex (Claudia), his seven grandchildren, countless friends and family members remember Craig’s two dogs, Zane and Winnie.

Aside from his 79 at Pebble Beach, Craig’s most talked about success on the golf course was his Eagle at Canyon # 7, which he repeatedly reminded everyone who played golf with him when they played that hole. His thundering laughs, wonderful sense of humor, ability to light up a room, connect and chat with everyone, and his insistence that the front row seat was worth every penny are very much missed. He collected fun, fine art that he often gave away to children and adults. One of his favorite traditions was to go around the table and before each meal, have everyone say one thing for which they were grateful. At this moment we are very grateful and grateful for all the love he shared and instilled into the universe. Craig changed our lives forever.
