Cruz beats Kenney in the Battle of UFC Tucson
TUCSON (KVOA) – Four years and nine months.
That’s how long it took Tucson’s Dominick Cruz to get back into the UFC profit column.
Cruz won a decision against Casey Kenney at UFC 259 in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

It was his first win since his last defense of his UFC bantamweight title against Urijah Faber in June 2016.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship was originally founded in 1993
Part of that long drought for the 2003 Flowing Wells High School graduate was due to not fighting for more than three and a half years after losing his belt to Corey Garbrandt in December 2016.
Cruz (23-3) returned to the ring last May where he was TKO from Henry Cejudo at UFC.
Kenney (16-3-1) has lived in Tucson for seven years. He trains at the MMA Lab in Glendale.
He won the bout 29-28 on one judge’s card, but Cruz had the favor of the other two judges 29-28 and 30-27.
