Cubs vs. Brewers at Phoenix Preview, Saturday 3/6, 2:10 CT

I published this article today about communicating the number of innings to be played in the Spring Games this year. Lots of teams do that well. The cubs aren’t. They should.

Continue.

Here are today’s details.

Cubs lineup:

Happ CF, Pederson LF, Bote 2B, Maybin DH, Romine C, Ortega RF, Vargas SS, Wisdom 1B, Giambrone 3B

Not a Javy Baez, but it was unlikely he would play two days in a row that early in the spring. And it seems he’s fine today:

Ross: Javy is fine which is beautiful. But said HBP was a scary moment on Friday.

Brewer line-up:

Wong 2B, Hiura 1B, Yelich LF, Garcia RF, Shaw DH, Arcia 3B, Narvaez C, Robertson SS, Taylor CF.

The brewers are now starting many of their regulars.

Shelby Miller will start for the Cubs this afternoon. Other Cubs pitchers today: Gray Fenter, Juan Gámez, Tyson Miller, Tommy Nance, James Norwood and Keegan Thompson.

Of these, only Norwood has a real chance of creating the opening roster.

Brett Anderson will start for the Brewers. Other Milwaukee pitchers today: Josh Lindblom, Miguel Sánchez, Zack Brown and Thomas Jankins.

Today’s game takes place on FSN Wisconsin with the Brewers announcers including their excellent regular PBP husband Brian Anderson.

MLB.com game day

Please note that the game day during spring training does not usually go from game to game as it does in the regular season – it is usually updated after each stroke.

Here is the complete MLB.com media center for today.

Please visit our SB Nation Brewers Brew Crew Ball page. If you go there to interact with Brewers fans please be respectful, abide by the individual site rules and serve as a good representation of Cub fans at the In general and BCB in particular.

For spring training games, we have a first pitch thread five minutes before the game starts and an overflow thread 90 minutes after the game starts (because I know how you like all of the overflow threads!). For today it is 2:05 p.m. CT and 3:30 p.m. CT.

These topics are not published individually on the homepage. Instead, you can find links to them in the Chicago Cubs Game Threads box at the bottom of the home page. There will also be a StoryStream on the homepage with all the links to the game thread as well as the post-game summary. The regular season pitcher photos and stats will be returned on the opening day.
