YUMA, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – A community bike group travels through the city of Yuma. It’s quite a sight that brings people together from all over the region.

928 Bike Life offers the community an escape from your home, especially during this pandemic.

This group has been strong for about two years.

On Saturday afternoon, more than 200 cyclists gathered near 32nd Street and Avenue B.

People from all over the region take part in the bike tour on Saturday.

Various cycling clubs from Las Vegas and Phoenix joined and even some BMX riders came out.

The Saturday ride is very special for the hundreds that came out. Yuma-born Los Psycholists Bike Club recently lost one of its members. The group today celebrates the life of Max Saldana by showing up to support his family.

When this community comes together, it reminds them that they are all family members.

Saldana and Cinthia Chavez were close friends and she explains why community is so important.

“Coming together is what the family does and is the time of need and any time in general. So we’re doing this for Max for Max’s family so that his family back home understands why he likes to ride so much, why he likes to be with us, and we give them back the love that they have lost and that they no longer have That is our goal today to come together as a family and provide family support, ”said Chavez.

928 Bike Life also includes many small businesses across the city.
