Elton John Adds Second Phoenix Concert Date On November 11

PHOENIX, AZ —Sir Elton John turned 75 years old last week, but on Tuesday he had a little gift for many of his fans, including those in the valley.

John announced 11 new concert dates to the previously-announced “Farewell Yellow Brick Road The Final Tour.” The new dates include a Nov. 11 show at Phoenix’s Chase Field, which begins at 8 pm

John has long been scheduled to play the next night —Nov. 12—at Chase Field.

“This year will see my grand finale in North America, playing stadiums all around the country, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had,” John said in a video to his fans posted on social media. “Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I cherish these memories we’re making together. It has been nothing short of incredible and I look forward to seeing you very soon, one last time on my Farwell Yellow Brick Road tour.”

Phoenix will be John’s next-to-last stop on the North American leg of the tour, and the shows will be the 12th and 13th concerts John has played in Phoenix during his career. The first was in Sept. 1971 at Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, according to AZfamily.com.

The Phoenix concerts will come just a little over a week before John wraps up the tour with three shows at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Nov. 20 concert at Dodger Stadium is scheduled to be the artist’s 2000th, and possibly final, show in the US, according to Billboard magazine.

The five-year farewell tour—which was paused during the pandemic—will continue in Australia and New Zealand in early 2023. John had been forced to cancel performances there in 2020 due to his own illness.

Tickets to the Nov. 11 concert in Phoenix officially go on sale through Ticketmaster at 9 am Pacific/10 am Mountain on April 6. However, presale opportunities begin this week for American Express cardholders and Rocket Club members.
