Embry Health Dispenses COVID-19 Vaccines in Pinal Counties, Navajo, Mohave AZ Vaccine HQ

SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – Embry Health has established several COVID-19 vaccination PODs across Arizona.

The healthcare provider currently has vaccination centers in Pinal, Navajo and Mohave counties.

Embry Health will provide the first dose of Moderna vaccination for those approved in Pinal County by March 23. The PODs are located at Combs High School, Poston Butte High School, and Central Arizona College. They work every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Another POD in the Mountain View Lutheran Church is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pinal County’s COVID-19 Vaccination PODs provide vaccines for health professionals, long-term care residents, key workers and infrastructure, including law enforcement, corrective protection, education and childcare professions, and adults 65 and older.

Visitors to Poston Butte High School said they took the chance to get a vaccine appointment near their home.

“It’s the first time I’ve got a vaccine out here,” says William Johnson.

Johnson says he can’t wait to safely host family reunions and make memories with his new wife.

“I got married last October so we haven’t had our honeymoon yet,” says Johnson.

Jessica Huerta drove her 79-year-old father-in-law to get his first shot. You suffered a death in the family from COVID-19. Huerta says her brother-in-law lost his battle with the virus last year.

“They drove him to the hospital when he passed,” says Huerta.

Pinal County is preparing to extend eligibility to vaccinate people 18 years and older. More than 118,000 doses have been given, with more than 44,000 people now fully vaccinated, according to the director of Pinal County Public Health.

The first dose of the Moderna vaccine will be given to eligible people in Navajo County by March 23. The opening hours for Frontier Park – Show Low are daily between 10 am and 2 pm and daily between 11 am and 2 pm at Holbrook Junior High School.

Navajo County’s COVID-19 Vaccination PODs provide vaccines for health professionals, healthcare support professionals, caregivers and residents, protective services, educators, energy and utilities, food and agriculture, packaging, transportation, distribution and grocery and restaurant workers, key service providers and critical industry employees, and adults aged 55 and over.

Embry Health is offering the first dose of Moderna vaccination in Mohave County on the Bullhead City Campus of Mohave Community College, Lake Havasu City Campus, and Kingman Campus.

Hours of operation for Bullhead City Campus and Lake Havasu City Campus are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and Kingman Campus is 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily.

Mohave County’s COVID-19 Vaccination PODs provide vaccines for health workers, long-term care residents, protective care professions, parenting and child carers, and adults ages 65 and older.
