Fan sets up Deontay Wilder’s GoFundMe page to raise £ 1 million for Tyson Fury to fight Anthony Joshua

A boxing fan eager to see Tyson Fury fight Anthony Joshua set up a GoFundMe page for Deontay Wilder.

The biggest fight in British boxing history is on the verge of collapse after a judge ruled Fury Wilder owed a trilogy fight.

Former WBC King Wilder is ready to step aside – but only after he pays a whopping 14 million pounds ($ 20 million).

And boxing fan Greg Double started a whip round to help Team Fury pay off The Bronze Bomber.

He wrote: “We all want to see Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury. Unfortunately boxing can be AC-12 levels.

“A US court has now ruled that Fury will have to fight Deontay Wilder for the third time. This means that the fight between Joshua and Fury could be postponed.

“There is still hope of saving it, however. Deontay Wilder could get some ‘step-aside’ money – essentially a huge wedge of money to avoid this all-British superfight.

“If 100,000 boxing fans pocket a tenner – and let’s face it, we’re used to being ripped off – we can offer him a million pounds to get out of the way.

“If 100,000 boxing fans pocket a tenner – and let’s face it, we’re used to being ripped off – we can offer him a million pounds to get out of the way.

“Not only will it provide an incentive, it will also send a message. The fans don’t want to see another fight.”

Should Wilder refuse the money, Double intends to donate the money to the Boxing Futures project.

He added: “Whatever we collect will be offered to Deontay Wilder. If he refuses, I will donate all proceeds to https://boxing-futures.org.uk/ – a charity that uses boxing to help young people potential to help in meeting their goals.

“It’s a shame this is the only way I can think of myself to try something, but boxing only knows one language – and that’s money. Let’s make a point.”

Fury’s trilogy fight with Wilder, which he eliminated last February, must take place before September 15th.

And the WBC King’s co-promoter, Bob Arum, has already reserved the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for July 24th.

The 89-year-old said: “We don’t pay Wilder to step aside.

“Better to get rid of him and get on with our business. We can get the Fury Joshua to fight for November or December.”

Team Joshua is already in talks over a showdown with former undisputed cruiserweight king Oleksandr Usyk, although promoter Eddie Hearn is hoping the fight with Fury will come to fruition.

“I focused on Plan A. The only fight we thought of was Tyson Fury.

“We hope that this fight can take place on August 14th.

“The game changed last night when we have to have a plan B and probably a plan C.

“We have different options. Of course, I immediately think of Oleksandr Usyk’s WBO.

“You have been very patient and I really think we are in a situation where we have no choice but to look for an alternative until the end of this week if Team Fury fail to come together and pull themselves together in a fight.”
