Flagstaff and Navajo Nation are expanding availability of COVID-19 testing

Health facilities across the Navajo Nation are increasing their ability to test for COVID-19 and vaccinate people as the Omicron variant spreads.

Navajo President Jonathan Nez says facilities are also working to test more children at home in January as cases rise.

The tribe on Sunday reported 179 more cases of the coronavirus and no deaths.

The tribe says a full report detailing the total number of cases during the pandemic will be available Tuesday. The known death toll remains at 1,600.

Northern Arizona Healthcare has partnered with Premier Lab Solutions to offer expanded COVID-19 testing in Flagstaff.

The new mobile test site is located at Elk’s Lodge #499 on N. San Francisco Street. It will be open to the public from Tuesday, January 18th. The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m
