Flagstaff Athletic Club keeps the community fit |

The Flagstaff Athletic Club strives to provide everything you need to achieve your fitness goals from a single source. Group fitness courses, children’s clubs and camps, swimming pools, saunas, steamers, whirlpools, state-of-the-art strength and cardio rooms, an indoor track, a fitness studio and much more are available to members.

The company, which has been part of the Flagstaff community since 1979, had to turn quickly with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, and the sports club took this as an opportunity to improve its member service.

“While the closure was difficult, we made good use of the time by thoroughly cleaning both facilities from top to bottom,” said manager Michelle Wesson. During this time, the West Club was also rethought. “The second closure made it possible to use it outdoors, so that we could function as a water system with our eastern outdoor pool and offer some outdoor group fitness classes. We were incredibly grateful that even a small portion of our store was open, and the community was equally grateful. Many said that swimming in the outdoor pool saved me all summer. “

FAC’s community-minded nature, which brought back many of its original members for 42 years, has continued throughout the pandemic. And now that nearly 50% of the people in Coconino County have received one or more doses of a COVID vaccine and the infection rate remains low, the facilities are hoping to bring new members back along with those who have not been comfortable .
