Flagstaff, Coconino Both Fall Friday Night, Meet In The City Championship Game Thursday – Great Circle Media of Arizona

The Coconino Panthers and Flagstaff Eagles both lost Friday night and sets up the Flagstaff City Championship game Thursday. The Panthers headed to Prescott in hopes to knock the Badgers out of the playoff hunt. Coconino would score first on a four yard run by quarterback Enoch Watson to go up 7-0. The two teams would trade touchdowns as Watson would score his second touchdown on a two-yard run. A missed PAT made the score 14-13 Prescott at halftime. Prescott would score on their second drive, then linebacker Cody Hanna picked off Watson and returned it for a touchdown. The Badgers never looked back as they went on to beat Coconino 35-13. Junior running back Bridger French was a bright spot for the Panthers, after he rushed for a career-high 177 yards on 27 carries. In Flagstaff, the Bradshaw Mountain Bears would score early and often as they beat the Flagstaff Eagles in the Skydome 49-6. The Eagles turned the ball over seven times in the loss. It will be the 54th meeting between Flagstaff and Coconino with the Panthers owning a 27-26 edge in the series. Coconino has won five straight in the series. The two meet at Cromer Stadium Thursday night.
