125 years ago

1896: See “Ralston”, the famous high diver. He is his own kind. He dives from a higher place and with more grace and daring than anyone else. Come here next Wednesday.

WS Robertson, who served as the cashier at Arizona Central Bank, has resigned. He plans to stay in Flagstaff and resume medical practice. He is a graduate of the Indiana School of Medicine.

J. Sterling Morton, Secretary of Agriculture, came here on Saturday as the guest of his son Paul, agent of the Santa Fe Railroad. They visited the Cliff Dwellings on Sunday and were then entertained by the Riordans before leaving on Monday to return to his home on the Pacific coast.

A truckload of copper ore from the Last Chance Mine was shipped to the forge in Constable Hook, New Jersey by Sheriff Cameron on Friday. Mr. Cameron has received good results from them and expects to ship a truckload weekly.

The lake in the Switzer Canyon is needed for the safety and adequacy of the water supply. Now is the time to build. It will also provide an amusement resource. Building the lake will give work to the men who need it. Come out and get to work for this lake!
