Flagstaff Selected to Receive a Green Schoolyard Grant | KAFF News – Flagstaff
The City of Flagstaff and the Flagstaff Unified School District have been selected by the Children and Nature Network to receive a Green Schoolyard Grant. The grant includes technical assistance and funding in support of the FUSD Open Access Program for Green Schoolyards. The focus of the scholarship is on Killip Elementary School, where the resources will be used to enhance the learning opportunities for students as the new school is built. Local non-profit Terra BIRDS will lead the project in Killip to ensure the school yard meets the community’s needs for rainwater harvesting, pollinator habitat, vegetable garden and a space to study and explore. Flagstaff was one of ten cities selected for the grant. The project is expected to start next year.
