Fourth Street in Flagstaff will be closed to vehicular traffic from the I-40 bridges south to the Warm Springs Trail on August 3 from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. due to ongoing work as part of the Fourth Street Reconstruction Project. The intersections of Soliere Avenue and Sparrow Avenue with Fourth Street will also be closed.
Access to the Summit Park Condos will be maintained during this time. Cyclists and pedestrians have access to the FUTS path at any time via the project site and rescue vehicles are allowed to pass through the project site.
The Fourth Street Reconstruction project contractor will use the closure to install a final layer of asphalt pavement. The closure will allow the paving to be completed and will reduce the ongoing impact on Fourth Street before the school reopens. The traffic restrictions will continue for several weeks after the pavement is laid while the paving strips, valve adjustments and final project elements are completed.
