Floods move flagpole to the center of the climate debate

The summer rain brought us much-needed relief from the heat here in the valley. But the monsoon storms caused massive flooding in the highlands.

Videos on social media have shown forest debris flowing like rivers, and even a car driving down a neighborhood street.

And there’s the viral video of neighbors watching a Prius wash down the street.

Much of the flooding comes in areas that have burned in massive forest fires in recent years. And it puts the city at the center of the climate debate.

The show spoke to Adrian Skabelund with the Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff about the situation.
