For the time being, Yuma-Mann will no longer be charged with attempted second degree murder

The judge maintains the suspect’s bond and raises concerns about the alleged victim’s safety

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A Yuma man accused of chasing his girlfriend in a vehicle before she crashed into a pole earlier this week is no longer facing a second degree attempted murder. Lorenzo Zavala Jr., 46, appeared in the Yuma County Judicial Court Thursday.

He was taken into custody by the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) Tuesday morning after responding to the scene at the 8700 block on S. Avenue D. The friend claims Zavala followed her on her way to work when the collision took place.
