French pastry shop ‘Le Macaron’ is coming to downtown Tucson

Downtown is getting a new French bakery that specializes in macarons — the delicate little sandwich cookies with a crisp exterior. As a matter of fact, it’s the first Le Macaron bakery to open in the state of Arizona.

Felicitations, Tucson.

Le Macaron is moving into the 1,358-square-foot space near the corner of Congress Street and Arizona Avenue, 260 E. Congress St., which is near the alley/walkway that takes you to HighWire.

The new pastry shop, which is expected to open this summer, is indeed a national chain but is being opened by the local franchisee, Happy Cookie LLCand they’ve signed the lease with the company for three Tucson locations (the downtown location is the first).

Once they’re open and dishing out the goods, you’ll find a variety of macarons, gourmet chocolates, French gelato, pastries, European-style beverages, and gifts.

The new shop will be joining some incredible local bakeries like the newly reopened La Baguette Parisienne, La Baguette Bakery (inside Ghini’s French Cafe), and Cafe Francais Boulangerie et Patisserie to name a few. So, if you’re craving a macaron right this very second, head over to woops! bake shop on Main Gate Square.
