Both head coaches, John Baldwin of Yuma and Sergio Lopez of GIla Ridge, happy to be back out racing.
“I was looking for a good 100 percent run today it was a little hot to begin with, but luckily the temperature went down and both my athletes that were competing today, they both performed exceptionally well,” Baldwin said.
Lopez said he’s looking for certain racers on his team to step up as leaders.
“We were just looking for consistency, we’re trying to set goals as we go along for the season we lost some of the seniors last year so it’s a young team this year, so we’re just building on it and getting stronger, “Lopez said.
Coach Baldwin says the times set by both Salcido and Luna were both their personal records for the East Wetlands course.
