Graduated from the Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Camelback High School was one of the first senior classes to take the stage at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. FOX 10’s Bailey Miller reports.

It was an exciting night for the Camelback High School graduates as they took to the stage to receive their diplomas.

Each of them had to wear masks and social distancing, and there was also a capacity limit.

During the ceremonies, the speakers took turns sharing the achievements of their class and whatever they endured. Almost all of their senior year was online, but they got a prom.

The students expressed their thanks for this and for this personal graduation.

“I’m very excited,” said Dayanara Delgadillo, a student. “Being able to graduate in person means a lot.”

“I feel good because we have friends who couldn’t,” said senior Nasbu Abwe. “I’m thankfull.”

Makayla Martinez said it was evidence of her hard work.

“When I finally wanted to do something and do my job, I wanted to … prove that I can do something if I work hard,” Martinez said.

Your ceremony is coming to an end. Next up: Graduation from Alhambra High School at 8pm
