Gubernatorial candidate focusing on Yuma in the latest campaign ad

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) — We’re less than seven months from the August Arizona primary, with the run for governor being one of the top stories we’re keeping an eye on.

Republican candidate Karrin Taylor Robson launched her first ad campaign focused on border issues we face in Yuma County.

Their first stop on the campaign trail was the Morelos Dam, currently a hotspot for crossings as we all know.

Many other Republican contenders also focused on the same thing.

Robson says she has solutions.

“We will find the resources to send to our local law enforcement and our sheriffs. We will increase the penalties for people caught breaking the law. We’re going to enforce the law, and that’s something I’m committed to,” Robson said.

New campaign fundraising figures from the Secretary of State’s office show Robson had more individual donors than any other Republican candidate.

With over 16,000 donors, while Republican nominee Kari Lake had six thousand.

Steve Gaynor has the most donations, over $5 million, with most of the money coming from his own account.

Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs has raked in nearly $3 million.
