Lady Vikings take 20th win of the season
YUMA, Arizona, (KYMA, KECY) – The Holtville Lady Vikings have been playing for a vengeance this fall since the 2020 season was canceled due to COVID-19.
The Lady Vikes have an impressive 19-5 overall record with an unbeaten record in the Imperial Valley League.
Meanwhile, the Yuma Lady Criminals under head coach Tiffany Arriola are trying to reverse their program’s longstanding loser culture; only won one win this season.
On Wednesday evening, the Lady Crims hoped to land a surprise on their home floor at the Lady Vikings’ expense.
When the game was done, it wouldn’t go that way.
From start to finish, the Lady Vikings controlled the pace in their 3-set win over the Lady Crims.
Holtville’s Lillie Strahm was key to victory as she provided 28 assists in the Lady Vikings win.
Kamryn Walker was stellar for Holtville too, getting away with 13 aces and 3 kills that night.
Teammate Jasmine Garewal also got away with 8 kills of her own.
The 25-10, 25-13 and 25-11 scores improve Holtville’s overall record to 20-5, while Yuma drops to 1-10.
Holtville will play at the Southwest next Tuesday, while Yuma will host San Luis on Monday.
