Home Depot plans to hire 1,600 people in subway stores in Phoenix

Home Depot plans to hire more than 1,600 full-time and part-time workers on-site to prepare for the busy spring season.

The giant retailer is also benefiting from brisk home sales and an increase in renovation activity. In the most recent quarter, the company posted a 25% increase in sales.

The company plans to hire 1,647 employees in Metro Phoenix. In-store positions focus on customer service, overnight unpacking cargo, merchandising, and filling out online orders for customer pick-up.

Home Depot also hires warehouse workers to replenish inventory and help with picking and shipping orders.
