Homeowners find duffel bag with rusted guns buried under tree
PHOENIX – A valley homeowner recently dug up a tree and found something unexpected – a holdall with rusted guns buried under it, according to a tweet from the Phoenix Police Department.
Police said there were rusted rifles and small arms in the travel bag. Photos shared on the Phoenix Police Department’s Twitter account showed at least two rifles and two handguns, as well as some magazines.
The situation occurred Sunday at a house near 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, a police spokesman said.
The guns have been turned over to the Phoenix Police Department, who are now determining if any gun was involved in a crime.
