Housing Solutions of Northern Arizona Acquires Flagstaff Travelodge to Turn It into Transitional Housing for Homeless Households – KAFF News – Flagstaff
New housing resources for households affected by homelessness are coming to Flagstaff. Housing Solutions of Northern Arizona announced Tuesday that they have received funding from the Arizona Department of Housing that will allow them to buy and rehabilitate a 44-unit hotel in Flagstaff. HSNA officially acquired the Travelodge property on Monday on the 29-100 block of East Route 66 and will convert the property into studio apartments, each with their own kitchens and bathrooms. The property will be part of a new transition housing program, which aims to help homeless households find safe, decent and affordable housing while having access to comprehensive transition support services to permanent, stable housing. The money will come from the Community Development Block Grant, which was part of Congressional funding for the CARES bill. Once the property has been renovated and complies with regulations, it will open to residents in late spring or early summer 2022.
