Lady Cougars’ season ended after losing to Page | Prepare for sport
The season of the Dickson County Lady Cougars ended after a 72:43 loss to Page in the first round of the District 11 AAA tournament.
It’s been a tough season for Dickson after losing a lot of talent and experience over the past two seasons. The Lady Cougars were challenged with a younger, inexperienced squad. Trainer Erin Webb said she was happy with the way the team got together and grew despite the early exit.
“Overall, I’m very proud of the resilience of our team,” said Webb. “It’s been a challenging season and they never stopped. You challenged [the coaching staff] and each other every day to get better and they did.
“Page head coach Ron Brock said after our last game that he was really impressed with how much our girls had improved and that he complimented the girls very well and they deserved it. You did the work every day. “
Madison Bonura, Hanna Ingram and Ashley Jackson are Dickson’s three seniors. Webb spoke highly of her and her contributions to the team this season.
“I feel deeply blessed to be able to train her,” said Webb. “They have infectious personalities that you draw to them. I am grateful for the work you have done this year to start the process of rebuilding our program. Your work will continue to have an impact. “
Dickson finished with a 6–13 record and 5–10 in the district.
